Marques de Borba Reserva
The grapes for this exceptional wine are harvested by hand. Part of the harvest is foot trodden in traditional shallow, open marble troughs, known as "lagares". The remainder is fermented in stainless steel tanks, with temperature control, with a long post-fermentation maceration and aging in French oak for 12 months. Deep ruby in color, this raspberry-scented wine has a concentrated jammy aroma, and rich, cocoa-accented fruit. The maximum-impact flavors are dense and smoky, while the tannins are fine-grained. A big wine, with brilliant earthy fruit that will continue to develop depth in the cellar.
